You find the 6-mile-from-beginning-to-end Pittsfield to North Chichester portion of Suncook River close by; this is a category I-II+(III) whitewater sweep. This sweep of Suncook River is recommended for whitewater paddlers of medium knowledge. Don't go whitewater paddling ahead of first checking the latest conditions; it's hazardous business. Good hiking is available along the Catamount Trail, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing   at close by Gunstock. Go ahead and go for a tour to nearby Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf for a great game of mini golf.
