We had a family reunion at the Old Barn 20 years ago and with it many fond memories so we decided to go back and relive some of those memories. First impressions were going into the ''office'' which was musty smelling and dingy. Upon arrival (we had over 30 people | |
in our group) we found out that we were sharing the hostel part with not only others but the REST OF THE CAMP! We had kids and adults running in and out of the barn at all hours of the day and night using the bathrooms (which are
| | another story!). The noise from upstairs was non-stop from late evening and resumed early morning. The bathrooms were not cleaned on a daily basis or even the whole weekend. One bathroom stall was out of service and another needed to be plunged (and not cleaned up). Most of the bathroom stalls had no locks on the stall doors and standing water from the showers was through out the bathroom. The camp ''gestapo'' was horrid and couldn't even fix the basic problems - i.e. cleaning up of water and waste and showers wouldn't work because they didn't remove the quarters! BTW we didn't get reimbursed for the money lost. I would also suggest bringing your own blankets if staying in the bunkshouse | |

theirs were scratchy and with the cleanliness of the rest of the place I wonder how clean they were?!!? The bike trailes were great and the tubing was fun. I think that a little better organization, customer service training and a getting back to the basics would help this place.
Maybe to ensure that they know who their guest are they should issue colored wrist bands for those staying, those visiting so that we are not stopped continuously to be asked if we ''belong'' there! Says Anonymous (12-Aug-13)
