We stayed at this campground over the weekend and were so disappointed! I have now been informed that this ''campground'' is mostly a seasonal place now so they do not need the support of the ''weekenders'' to make it. To which I say great
then close your doors to weekenders! Save them the trouble and bad experience as well. The staff here is the main issue. They are rude and they do their best to bully you if you let them.
The old man who brings you to your
| | spot yelled at my children immediately upon seeing them saying ''I’m going to tell you once to not jump over the fence to the playground''. I completely understand wanting everyone to use the gate and not jump over, however my children have been taught to be respectful and if they are not it is my job to parent them. They do not respond well to being yelled at before they have committed or have even thought about committing an infraction. They spent the weekend afraid of going into the play area.
I therefore accompanied my 7-year-old to the playground so she would be more comfortable. She wanted to swing in the toddler swing, so I was pushing her in it. I did not think anything of
|
this as it is sturdy toddler swing like you see in public parks. We also have had a toddler swing we purchased for her when she was 1. She continues to occasionally use it. Another old crabby employee came over and sarcastically stated ''oh, is she only two!'' to which I responded ''of course not'' She began trying to intimidate and bully me to which I responded, ''I am in here playing with my child, we have been nothing but respectful and appropriate and all you would have had to say is we would appreciate it if only children 2 or younger use that swing and we would have apologized and moved to another swing.
'' She turned and walked away muttering that anyone with any intelligence would know that the swing was meant for children under two. ''
She did not have the courage to say it to my face but then bullies rarely do. I did
tell her that I did not appreciate being accosted by her. She looked over her shoulder and told me she worked here. Great, I responded, I will talk to your employer. Three parents who had witnessed the ordeal came over and told me
they were happy someone finally stood up to her. If you have children I would not go anywhere near this place. I can not believe that a campground that professes to be family friendly would keep these two around. Just the site of them is enough to scare small children. Says Shelly (Mon, 22 Jun 2009)
