DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER GOING TO THIS CAMPGROUND!! I visited Grand Haven for the 4th of July, everything around was booked, so we unfortunately made reservations at this DUMP! The first night we got there we were yelled at for going 7MPH when the speed limit is 5 (my car idles at 7) they have radar guns. We had problems from the get | |
go. They literally harrassed us at this camp. When we would leave for the day they would ask us ''where are you going, what are you doing, when will you be back''..everything short of asking for our social security numbers. We had
| | numerous visits by the staff for laughing too hard (they said we were laughing too loud). I find this ironic because the campground is located right next to the expressway with cars and motorcycles zooming by at 70 throughout the night and day. The campground also is located next to a railroad, where a train passed by everynight. The bathrooms/showers are TERRIBLE, as there was feces on the brims of the toilet and no toilet paper (showers were moldy and smelled like urine). Two guests that were camping next to us left because they were harrassed for allegadly stealing wood and being too loud on the 4th of July. The night of the 4th I finally couldn't take the harrassment from the staff any | |
|
longer. They said we couldn't drive through the park anymore because they clocked us with their radar gun going 7 mph. I finally snapped and told them quit harrassing me. They called the police. When the cops showed up I told them what happened and they said they get this all the time from this campground and that it is the worst place to stay in Grand Haven.
The cops agreed with my complaints and were very polite and understanding. They informed me that there is not much I can do since it is privately owned. I packed up and left the camp around 1130 pm. The staff/owners look like they
are off the hills have eyes, and are way too controlling. It makes me furious that they make you pay 3 days in advance because they harass you so much that you end up leaving after the 1st or 2nd night. They take your money and thats
it. One of the staff members also made several sexual comments to one of my female friends. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS CAMP. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE, PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THESE CREEPS YOUR MONEY. There is not one nice thing I can
say about Campers Paradise. The staff is trash and they all live in the campground. If I could give them 0 stars, I would. Says Tim (Tue, 6 Jul 2010)
