Barton Cove Campground, Massachusetts     Custom Search   I have been going there for over 20 years. It is a great place to take a family and if you are lucky, you will get to see the bald eagles (I actually got to see their first flight). There are some high cliffs on the river side of the campground, partly blocked with post and rail fencing. The Ashuelot to Hinsdale section has a mileage of 3.5 miles; you find this section of whitewater on Ashuelot River. It's a grade II-IV section. This section of Ashuelot River is suited for paddlers who have been   whitewater boating for some time but who are not yet set for the truly risky rapids.
