The altitude difference is 1,300 feet, and this ski resort gets covered by 9 feet of white snow per season. There's a wonderful 17-mile-from-beginning-to-end class II-III whitewater sweep on Crooked River close by, the East Waterford to Scribners Mill portion. If you don’t want to risk getting dripping wet this sweep of Crooked River is probably not for you. Check current conditions in advance of a trip on the whitewater, otherwise it's not secure. If you're looking for a bowling alley close by, Saco  
Valley Sports Center is in close proximity to Bear Mountain Village. The vista of picturesque Kimball Hill near Bear Mountain Village is fine; if by chance you have a boat, Moose Landing Marina is a good marina.
