River Road Camping And Marina, Illinois     Custom Search   River Road Campground and Marina does not cater to family values. Over the Labor Day weekend, my wife and I experienced constant loud vulgarity throughout the afternoon and evening (including multiple f-bombs with children present), out-of-control drinking, extremely loud partying throughout the night, and a management staff that did not respond to the emergency call I put in at 1:30 am, twice, to ask for help in correcting the problem! The next day, when I confronted the manager about his lack of response and lack of control over the premises, he told me I was free to leave and go to a state park where drinking is not allowed. He did very little to validate my concerns, but felt it necessary to       tell me that the loud drunk that was next to my campsite complained about me asking him to clean up his act! Further, the next morning, by 9am, a toilet that had overflowed in the middle of the night was still a mess on the floor   in the men’s room. The garbage dump stunk immensely both when we arrived on Friday, and when we left on Sunday. (A lack of preparation for guests on an important holiday weekend?!) What was supposed to be an enjoyable holiday weekend, turned out to be a nightmare for us and other campers who also left early rather than endure another day at a camp that obviously did not want to cater to those that had incorrectly presumed that family values were a standard at this campground. TIP: On the way out, I noticed that there was NO “quiet time” posting I normally see at most campgrounds! Now I understand why!
