Smithwoods RV Park is a glorious campground to use as a base while enjoying the Santa Cruz Mountains. If you love whitewater, there is the Felton to Ocean at Santa Cruz section, a class III-IV whitewater section on San Lorenzo River, 6 miles in length. If you don’t want to risk getting soaked this section of San Lorenzo River is probably not for you. You have to check restrictions before heading out; whitewater rafting or kayaking may get dangerous. Delightful backcountry trekking awaits you on the   close by Rincon Fire Road Trail; this backcountry hiking trail has a height difference of 205 feet and is 1.6 miles long.
