We have been there twice and just love it. You are only 25 miles away from Medicine Lake & 15 mile from the Lava Beds. We visited other camp grounds and have not been treated half as nice as we have been here. Dave his wife made us feel like we were at home. We even reserved our spot for the next trip. Some of the things you can do here at Hawk's Nest are relaxing, and whitewater paddling, so you won’t run out of things to do. It's impossible to get bored in California if you adore the outdoors.   So many entertaining things close to Hawk's Nest, and it is a fun spot for everyone. This camp ground is situated in the beautiful Southern Cascade Range. Finally, the time to go camping is here once more, and Hawk's Nest in California is a really fine spot to spend some time. The friendly staff and the beauty of the spot are in themselves reason enough to come here. Modoc National Forest is worth going to if you're at Hawk's Nest, and the views at Lava Beds National Monument will blow your mind. All the outdoors amusing stuff in the Southern Cascade Range will keep you coming back many times. Don't leave Hawk's Nest without going to Ahjumawi Lava Springs State Park. Around Hawk's   Nest you don’t get a lot of rain. December is when you get the most snow here; the driest month of the year is July.
