Great place to come back to after hiking -- great showers & relaxing atmosphere.
Arrival August 10, 2011 -Called that a. M. , & Sue (who’s been there for 18 years) was SO friendly & informative. We arrived much later than planned after office hrs. You’d never have known it with the immediate & personable service we received. They actually led the way, assisted with guiding, hooking up, & putting our awning | |
down!
We’re eligible for Good Sam & Senior discounts. Our wkly rate = $200. 07. Incl hookups (30 & 50 amp), Cable TV, Wi-Fi.
Older, well established, & organized family-owned/ran park in San Fernando Valley in family
| | over 30 years. Implementing improvements/updates while carrying on good old fashioned community atmosphere & service. We’ve an older 30’ motor coach with only one ac. Being newbies we just knocked our air conditioner for a loop under low clearance at gas station, so shade important. Being an older park attributes to big plus of shade trees & landscaping! They really take pride in their community & make you feel a part of it whether overnight or long-term. They’ve had park-sponsored events i. E. BBQs etc. In the past & plan to get back into that again. Residents are throwing a Labor Day Block Party. We’ll be here as have EXTENDED our stay until September 10th. We’d definitely make this a long-term | |

base. Would we return? ABSOLUTELY! We’re looking forward to returning to see the wonderful people & outcome from changes they’re making.
Access for the Disabled. While they don’t advertise regarding this on website or in park, I made several observations.
There are residents in addition to RVers who come & go with disabilities. They’re personally out every day going to pay a call on persons who are ill or disabled. They’re seen assisting in variety of ways incl emotional support.
People walk in the park using canes & walkers. Riding in a motorized wheelchair doesn’t appear to be a problem. Public areas appear to be easily accessible. We had no air conditioning, & hit a heat wave. They personally checked in
on us, offering fans, bottled water & ride if necessary to cooler area. They’ve a ramp going into the club house (which used to house the office). They’re discussing putting a doorbell at the club house as you enter the property to
alert staff when assistance with registration is needed.
Wi-Fi at each site, not just at designated hotspots. This is important to us to be able to conduct business. I did experience periods of slow download or poor Wi-Fi reception
inside our motor coach, but was able to get it often on my netbook by stepping out the door or changing rooms. Many parks do not have Wi-Fi at all, & the ones I have been to have mostly had a designated area . Our Motor Coach has
a Complete Office, equipped with Desktop, Printer, etc. , so that is not an option. I had pretty good luck with the connection, but in my business I need higher speed. They’re continuing to work to improve their Wi-Fi.
Laundry/Restrooms/Showers:
2 facilities centrally located & available at all times. Parking. CLEAN. Increasing # of cleaning crews. Pleasant surroundings. Picture on website is accurate representation of laundry room. Washers & dryers in excellent working
order. Seating, vending machine, Wi-Fi, folding table, large double sink, & clothes rack. Clothesline outside. Keys given at check-in for restrooms/showers, this gave my husband & I feeling of SAFETY/SECURITY. Restroom/shower is very
clean & maintained. Cleaning crew comes once a day & continues to be maintained/ supplies replenished throughout each day. Showers are set up to ensure PRIVACY & I notice that as a big plus compared even to some of the “higher end”
parks we have been in. Mmm… long hot shower with great water pressure after that long ride.
Recreation Room/Club House spacious, clean & uncluttered building with restrooms, kitchenette, lounge area, pool table, television,
DVD player, CD player & VHS player, piano, keyboard etc. Family friendly library: books, video tapes, DVDs, &CDs
Pets are welcome. We’ve no pets, but we enjoy them. Dog-lovers walk their dogs throughout day/evening. It is enjoyable
to sit outside on concrete patio or on the grass under shade tree, & watch people & dogs go by & come up to say hi. We even have one kitty who stops by to let my husband pet him. Most sites also have picnic tables.
No pool
- went to BEACH. This is not a resort, but rather a relaxed community atmosphere. CLOSE to everything -- bus stop 2 blks away connects to subway, train - you can go anywhere - & so MANY places to go/things to do! . Only 12 miles to
Universal Studios, close to ALL Hollywood & LA area attractions. The office has a great selection of brochures.
NOISE: Close to Van Nuys Airport. Didn’t hear jet engines/ see jets flying over it’s not like that. It’s busy
with helicopters. We hear & see them. It’s not noisy at times to disrupt sleep. Pleasant, relaxing atmosphere, quiet most of the time. We had no problem with noisy campers etc. Most noise was the garbage truck & one Saturday evening
had few low-flying helicopters.
Currently discussing implementation of shuttle service. Gave us a ride to Balboa Bus Station & to site when returning from market (just up the street). Have known them to give rides to restaurants,
Van Nuys Airport & often shuttle people to their site as they return walking onto property.
My husband & I are on the road assessing RVers’ business services needs for Deb’s Professional Services. We’re on a tight budget &
newbies not a real good combination. Someone up there sure was taking care of us when He guided us to Birmingham RV Trailer Village!
