Hiking & Trekking in Argentina
Many national parks in Argentina protect certain areas by not allowing any tourists in. This means trekking can be fairly limited even if a park is huge. Most other areas are open to the public and private enterprise in the park such running refugio's are common. Camping in the parks is quiet often free at designated camping grounds. Facilities vary from none to latrines and barbecue sites. Many of these offer superb tranquil places to enjoy the natural splendor. High season in Argentina is not the same as high season in the European Alps. Even in high season you can find harder treks to be deserted.
