The Lantau Trail is another long distance hiking trails similar to the MacLehose Trail. It follows a circular route of about 70 km through the finest scenary of the Lantau Country Parks, starting and ending at Mui Wo. The trails is divided into twelve stages of different lengths. You can choose the ones you like to hike. The shorter stages are more suitable for a leisurely day's outing; and the longer ones are for weekend camping trips. For those who are FIT and WELL-EQUIPPED, they can tackle the whole 70 km distance at one go, clockwise or anti-clockwise. The information presented here takes an anti-clockwise course.

The park is very mysterious because of the straight high pillars that look like they have been push from the earth and the mist that surrounds them; Lijiang river, Yangshuo, Most backpack travelers that visit China come to Yangshou. This means that you can get some 'western' etc. That is nice for a change (after 4 weeks of rice one graves for a pancake) But why you should see Yangshou is for the beautiful oddly shaped mountains with even more exotic names like 'eight supernaturals crossing the river' or 'Yellow cloth in the river'
