The BL-22 is designed in the tradition of the American West - right down to the barrel bands, exposed hammer and tubular magazine. It has an unusually short 33? lever throw that you'll find very useful. It makes working the action exceptionally fast for adults and much easier for young shooters. You won't find this feature on any other lever action. It enables you to cock the hammer and chamber a fresh round with a mere flick of the wrist. And you can do this while keeping the BL-22 shouldered and on target. This is a feature that works so well you simply must experience it before you consider any other lever action 22. Because the trigger disconnects and travels with the lever, there's no chance of pinching fingers - fat dad fingers or little daughter fingers. A precision rear-leaf sight is fully adjustable for windage and elevation. Available in Grade I and Grade II models. Capacity: 15 rounds of Long Rifle, 17 rounds of Longs or 22 rounds of Shorts. Conveniently, it reliably handles mixed loads in any order.

I have owned my BL-22 for about 5 years, and have found it to be ultra reliable, very, acurate and a real pleasure to use. I have owned a Marling 39A and a couple of Winchester 9422s, but this Browning is my favorite. It only weighs 5 pounds, and the super short throw makes it a quick shooting little rifle. I loved my Marlin also, but the Browning is so much lighter and handier than either the Winchester or the Marlin. The BL-22 will digest any .22 ammo you care to load it with and is super handy to have on hikes and woods trips. It's beautifully finished and slick as grease.
