Kelty, Stick 1 - Solo Backpacking Tent

More details and ordering info.

New for 2006! At only 2.5 lbs. minimum weight, the Stick is Keltys lightest solo backpacking tent. The Sticks unique single-pole design provides a vestibule and enough interior height to sit up inside. The Stick uses a single vertical pole in the center, with three short strut poles to lift the side and foot end of the tent. This design maximizes interior height (46 at peak) without the need for poles to cross over the top of the tent. The Stick also provides a 9.9 sq. ft. vestibule for stowing gear and muddy boots. Ventilation is excellent with side wall vents and mesh covering the entire top 2/3 of the tent body. The Stick is non-freestanding. The tent body, pole and struts must be staked out for the tent to remain erect. With some practice, the Stick goes up pretty quickly. However, the set up is more technical than a standard dome or hoop tent, and we recommend that you familiarize yourself with how the Stick is set up before heading out on the trail.
