The Big Agnes Sarvis SL1+ with eVENT is designed with more room so you have a super light one person tent with enough space inside for your gear or your dog. Single wall tents don't use a separate rainfly. This makes them lighter than a comparable double wall design. But, the superior ventilation of a double wall design prevents heavy condensation build up on the inside of the tent body. Plus with a double wall design, the rainfly can be removed for star gazing on clear nights. Big Agnes merges the best of both designs in the Sarvis series. The Sarvis' unique hybrid construction combines the weight savings of a single wall tent with the flexibility and ventilation of a double wall tent. There's a single wall roof on the back half of the tent, with a mesh front half that can be covered with the rainfly when needed. To further prevent condensation, Big Agnes builds this version of the Sarvis SL1+ with eVENT fabric, an advanced, waterproof and breathable material. The eVENT fabric is used on the single wall section, and makes a big improvement in the tent's breathability. Note: The eVENT fabric used on Sarvis tents is not flame resistant or fireproof. The fabric will burn if it comes in contact with any flame source. At a trail weight of 2 lb. 13 oz. (packaged weight 3 lb. 6 oz.), the Sarvis SL1+ certainly earns its super light name. Many ultralight designs result in a claustrophobic little shelter that you have to squeeze yourself into, and then there's no room for gear. But in the case of the Sarvis, super light does not mean super small. The Sarvis SL1+ features 25.5 sq. ft. of floor space and a head height of 38 inch. The unique roof line of the Sarvis SL1+ maintains good height from front to back, giving you a higher ceiling over a larger area of the tent. There's enough room for you and your gear!
