The Big Agnes Sarvis SL2+ is designed with more room so you have a super light two-person tent with enough space inside for two plus gear or your dog. The Sarvis series features a unique hybrid construction, combining the weight savings of a single wall tent with the flexibility of a double wall tent. Single wall tents do not use a rainfly making them lighter than a comparable double wall design. However, with a single wall design, ventilation is poor leading to condensation on the inside of the tent. Plus, with a single wall tent, you don't have the option of removing the fly to star gaze on clear nights. Big Agnes has combined the best of both designs into the Sarvis SL2+. There's a single wall roof on the back half of the tent, with a mesh front half that can be covered with the rainfly when needed. At a trail weight of 3 lb. 13 oz. (packaged weight 4 lb. 7 oz.), the Sarvis SL2+ certainly earns its super light name. Many ultralight designs result in a claustrophobic little shelter that you have to squeeze yourself into, and then there's no room for gear. But in the case of the Sarvis, super light does not mean super small. The Sarvis SL2+ features 32.5 sq. ft. of floor space and a head height of 46 inch. The unique roof line of the Sarvis SL2+ maintains good height from front to back, giving you a higher ceiling over a larger area of the tent. There's enough room for you and your gear! The Sarvis is a free-standing design with clips. With a freestanding tent, you can set the tent up, and then move it around on your site to find the optimal position (no more sleeping on rocks or tree roots). With clips to attach the tent body to the poles, set up is quick and easy, even in the dark. The Sarvis incorporates a bath tub floor design, which raises the floor seams up off the ground to prevent leaks. All seams are factory taped, and there's a storm flap over the vestibule zipper.
