for more outdoors entertaining things just keep reading. Sucker Creek is in the neighborhood of Oregon Caves National Monument and is always a pleasure to stop by, and Lime Rock is a great place to visit while in the vicinity. Oregon Caves National Monument is a pretty wet place
generally with lots of rainfall; during December this area sees the most rain while July is mostly the driest month. All through the warmest time of the year at Oregon Caves National Monument temperatures are generally in the 80's with overnight lows in the 40's. For the duration
of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's; nighttime lows all through the wintertime for Oregon Caves National Monument tend to be in the 30's.
Oregon Caves National Monument is small in size, 480 acres, but rich in diversity. Above ground, the monument encompasses
a remnant old-growth coniferous forest. It harbors a fantastic array of plants, and a Douglas-fir tree with the widest known girth in Oregon. Three hiking trails access this forest. Below ground is an active marble cave created by natural forces over hundreds of thousands of years

Operating Hours, Seasons The Monument is open all year for hiking, snow shoeing and other similar outdoor activities. Access to the interior of Oregon Caves is only
by guided tours. The cave tour schedule for the spring through fall of 1999 is as follows: Spring: March 15 - April 30: 10am - 4pm Tours given at 10, 11:30, 1, 2:30, 4 May 1 - May 25: 9am - 5pm Tours given on the Hour Summer: May 26 - Sept 4: 9am - 7pm Tours given on
the hour and half hour. Fall: Sept 5 - Sept 24: 9am - 5pm Tours given on the hour. Sept 25-Dec 3: 10am - 4pm Tours given at 10, 11:30, 1, 2:30, 4 Winter: Cave Tours CLOSED CLOSED CLOSED Getting There PLANE - Nearest airport is in Medford about 70 miles from
the Monument CAR - Follow maps to the monument. PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION - No public transport available in this region. Weather & Climate Rain in the spring and late fall. Snow during the winter months. Warm and humid during the summer. Accessibility Only
the first room of the cave is accessible for wheelchairs. No canes allowed in the cave due to safety issues. We are working on developing accessible trails. Getting Around Vehicle access is available only to the historic district. Hiking on steep trails is the

for One Time During summer months, special off-trail cave tours are offered at 10:00am every day. Tour requires crawling through narrow passageways and climbing slippery surfaces. Due to the strenuous nature of the tour, participants should be in good physical condition.
Total length of tour (including outfitting): 4 hours. Minimum age: 16 years. Cost of tour: $25 Tentative summer schedule: June 23 - Sept 4
