Going to Bluestone National Scenic River is a brilliant idea when you need to spend some time in the fresh air. Now, you may think that's a heap but there's even more amusing stuff to do here at Bluestone National Scenic River. Dry warm beds await you at Days Inn of Mount Hope; get yourself into a kayak and hit Arbuckle Creek. Getting to Bend Branch from Bluestone
    National Scenic River is easy, and if you came to camp Appalachian Wildwaters Campground is a tremendous place to do that.
There are scores of enjoyable endeavors for everybody. Soar down the rapids of Dunloup Creek in a kayak, and Bluestone National Scenic River is a magnificent
spot to visit for more than one day, Alpine Adventures is a magnificent spot to camp nearby.
Little Beaver Lake is a great lake right next door to Bluestone National Scenic River, and a delightful nearby hotel is Comfort Inn New River. No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a good time here at Bluestone National Scenic River. There are some fine whitewater spots on New River; if you need a location to stay Holiday Inn OAK HILL-NEW RIVER GORGE is a magnificent choice. It's a popular place to go to for folks rolling up from Glen Jean.

National Scenic River, for example Coal Run.
Mill Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth taking a look at, and Gauley River National Recreation Area is one of the destinations that are great to check out close by. All through the warm months at Bluestone National Scenic River highs are mostly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 60's. Through the wintertime highs are commonly in the 40's; through the dark hours in the winter at Bluestone National Scenic River temperatures plunge to the 20's. There's so much to do here
 
at Bluestone National Scenic River that you need to camp here for a while, ACE Adventure Center is a tremendous place for that, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Hickory Branch.
You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff at Bluestone National Scenic River. Stay the night at Plum Orchard Lake; some close by water includes Sugar Creek. Quality Inn Beckley is a perfect location to get some rest, and Sweetwood Hollow is a good spot to stop at. Bluestone National Scenic River is a gorgeous place where everybody has a great time.
There's some flowing water nearby, Adkins Branch is a stream you can take a look at while you're here; a picturesque lake like Blue Jay Lake is a great spot to pop by. There's whitewater on Piney Creek for all you adrenaline people, also Unnamed Tributary Barren Branch Dam is worth stopping at if you're here. Bluestone National Scenic River mostly gets a lot of precipitation; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is October.
Camping at Mountain State Travel and Trl Pr is always a great experience; you'll perhaps meet some folks from Glen Jean here.

This scenic river preserves relatively unspoiled land in southern West Virginia and contains natural and historic features of the Appalachian plateau. In its 11 miles, the lower Bluestone River offers excellent warm water fishing, hiking, boating, and scenery.

Getting There
CAR - Interstate 77 or 64 to Route 20.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION - AMTRAK stops at Hinton.

Weather & Climate
Climate is varied, without prolonged extremes of temperature or precipitation. Sturdy shoes or boots, rain gear, adequate protection from heat or cold suggested. During spring and fall hunting seasons, trail users are advised to wear blaze orange.

Getting Around
In Park: a trail connects Bluestone State Park with Pipestem State Park. A tram takes visitors to the Bluestone River from Pipestem State Park.
