| When we stayed at Pinecone Campground we had a very great time. Even though we read some not-so-good reviews, we had lots of fun. The childern enjoyed the pool and the golf carts and even the teenagers that were there had fun. It is a good family invironment and a good place to go and relax. We havee stayed there since and we will continue to go back. We camped in tents.... |

North Tyger River

... left, or right AFTER the bridge-lots of 'No Trespassing' signs before the bridge. Shuttle is about 6 hilly miles. Mostly quiet, with some scrapes below 1' on gauge.
There are some fun little rapids: First one take dead center. Third one with a nice slot river-left of center rock formation but you need some water. You can also go river right with a hard slide/small hydraulic back towards the center-then drag back up and run it again. There is a nice tiny play spot river-left about 2/3 into the run. My favorite is a series of small drops about 3/4 into the trip: fun run of about 50 yds-at low water, need to make some turns, watch your angles-small island bisects river-take just left-of-center line and pick your way down on the left. Sneaky little rapid river-left just before bridge can catch you if you are not watching-pick your way river-left after most of Nesbitt Shoals are completed and take the rapid to the right, boat angled right to get pushed to the left and ride the little wave train to the bridge.
There are some nice beaches, rocks on which to chill/eat. Lots of wild... |
