Fantasy Island Campground
 | We really enjoyed our stay at Fantasy Island Campground. It is a beautiful campground on the Susquehanna river. There are hiking and biking trails at the state park next door. The campground itself is kept clean and the people are friendly. I will definately return.... |
Knoebels Resort and Campground
| ...re for campground bathrooms but Knoebels keeps theirs very clean. While it's a pain sometimes because there is no sewer or water hookup, we always have a great time there. My daughter who is now 13 started going on roller coasters there when she was 9 and now we can't keep her off of coasters where ever we go. I also like the fact that we can walk back and forth to our site. Sometimes when we go to amusement parks I really don't feel like going on the rides, but I do because I had to pay to get in. At Knoebels you either buy tickets and go on the rides you want or sometimes they have a handstamp. If you don't want to go on rides, you can still walk around and enjoy the park without having to pay. I also like the fact that it is geared towards families. In the amusement park you can wear a bathing suit when you are on the water rides, but to walk around you have to wear clothes, you can't walk around in just your suit(guys and girls) and if your shirt says or shows anything offensive you have to either wear your shirt inside out or leave the park. J&D Campground

We loved this campground. It was clean and neat and many nice people. We are already planning to go back next year. It is so close to Knoebles too....A group of us have been going to J&D for 18 to 20 years. Over this time period they have made many improvements to the campground. Being just down the road from Knobles Amusement Park makes it a better location than the Knobles Camp Ground. J&D site are larger, cleaner and they maintain the sites. Kurt Jones takes special pride in his grass, so don't think about parking on it or setting up a tent. A few years ago he added sewer hook-ups and this has added to the appeal of the campground. The ratings in the camping books appear to be lower than my ratings would be. Usually it is just the opposite. The pool is old and a little small for the size of the campground. But we go back every year and always enjoy the stay.... |

Okay, I'm on Tussey's Junior Race Team and we spend every waking moment at Tussey, and love it. It takes exactly 7 minutes and 43 seconds to get up the lift and 4 minutes and 22 seconds to get up the t-bar (which they fixed with duct tape) Never get chair 32, the bars don't go down, and chairs 75 and 1 are lucky. If you ask nicely in the lodge, they'll warm up your cinnamon bun for you and always try the vending machine without money first, it sometimes works. Also, never use the front door to the lodge, you are guarenteed to fall oh, and the mountain can be skied in full tuck in 15.4 seconds. ... |

The trails are challenging and the scenery picturesque. Our beginner members have benefited from the patience of Denton instructors and have developed into good skiers/boarders.
