Smith River
15 miles away
… You need a permit through the state drawn in Feb. This is a pristine fishing section of this river and there are many regulations you must pay attention to....

Tenderfoot Creek
22 miles away
I'm a land owner on the Tenderfoot and I wouldn't recomend trying to float it. It is a fun place to go tubing and have short floats but it isn't a good place for an extended trip. There are numerous log jams and gravel bars to navigate. On the other hand The Smith River is awesome....

Nestled in the heart of the Little Belt Mountains you'll find Showdown Ski Area. Since 1936, Showdown has been known for its family friendly atmosphere and amazing all natural snow. With a base area elevation that's higher than many summits and a location that puts us right in the middle of the winter storm paths, Showdown gets the good snow and keeps it longer. Great skiing is just part of what has kept Showdown going for over 70 years. The real secret to our success is the friendly folks that work and play here. George and his family have been running the show for over 30 years, and have helped generations of Montanans learn to love winter. Whether you' re a downhill demon or just looking for a fun place to have a drink, a laugh and soak in the sparkles of winter, Showdown is the place to play....

Great Divide
77 miles away

...a, Great Divide is located on the Continental Divide in west central Montana between Helena & Great Falls. The mountain is large & diverse with 140 trails, bowls & glades on 3 mountain peaks and three different valleys covering more than 1500 acres of terrain. From atop The Continental Divide several other mountain ranges, lakes, and valleys are displayed in vistas stretching for nearly 100 miles. Helena is just 23 miles and Great Falls only 95 miles via I-15 Exit #200.
For a ''local'' ski area, Great Divide is enormous. Finding powder three days after a storm is not uncommon. The management's prominent signage stating ''DO NOT SKI ALONE....IF YOU BECOME INJURED OR ILL WE MAY NOT BE ABLE TO FIND YOU'' Bears ominous testimony to the complex network of trails and the seemingly endless glades that coined the local phrase ''ski-all terrain''.
The BACKYARD beginner's area is FREE to anyone. The MEADOW MOUNTAIN Chairlift serves a separate minor peak designed specifically for new skiers & riders, little kids and young families.
The GOOD LUCK Chairlift provides access to the inte...

Bridger Bowl
79 miles away

Bridger Bowl offers a very diverse ski experience with the following ratings: 20% beginner, 30% intermediate, 20% advance and 30% extreme. Incredible expert only skiing is available off Bridger's new Schlasman's Chairlift and on the renowned ''Ridge.'' Skiers and snowboarders who wish to ride the new lift or access this terrain, collectively known as Ridge Terrain, must have an avalanche transceiver (457 kHz). It is strongly recommended to have a partner, a shovel and expert skiing abilities in addition to knowledge of the terrain before venturing into the area which will have no hazard markings, no grooming and no marked trails. Ridge Terrain contains numerous steep chutes, rock cliffs, and snowfields which may end in unmarked cliffs. Clearly, Bridger Bowl's Ridge Terrain provides some of the most challenging skiing found within any ski area boundary!...
