River Creek Campground
16 miles away 1 PHOTO ...mall pop-up sites below. The riverfront sites all featured 20 and 30-foot long covered canopies, which were great when the weather turned wet. We had heavy rain on the first night and they released water from the dam upstream, offering us a great view of the rushing river. Docks at each campsite took you out over the river. All tent sites had electricity and water, some 30amp and some simply 120. Brown trout and carp were visible from the riverbank, but very elusive to fishing. The bathhouses were located up by the main officer and were all very clean, but only had three showers and four toilets per side - a little busy in the mornings, so we had to take shower times into account. The campground is pet-friendly with a pet exercise area, motorcycle ramp for taking your bike on and off your truck/trailer, playground for the kiddies, arcade with video games, pool tables and access to nearby hiking trails and grocery stores. The campground shop featured ice cream, a smattering of groceries, camp fuel, propane refills, $8 wheelbarrow loads of firewood and very weak coffee. The couple run...

Rocky Broad River
25 miles away The Rocky Broad River- Class IV-V???? Are you kidding? Not since I moved here in '85 has there even been much water there! You can barely even float a boat on it unless it has rained for several days! My 7yo daughter tubed it last year (at least when she wasn't bumping over the shallow rocks). Even this year when we've tons on rain, a kayaker would have trouble picking a deep enough line through the shoals....
Green River
28 miles away This section is fun but not very difficult. The river is full of tubers in the summer. Trout fishing is good here so bring a rod, just be sure you know the regulations as they change on different sections and the game wardens are notorious ticket writers. The put in is at ''Fish Top'' access and the take out is at the ''Big Rock'' access parking lot both on Green River Cove Rd. Also from the Big Rock access to the public landing on Lake Adger is a good trip, but a little slower....
