A birding trail is located in nearby Oakridge which is 22 miles from Dexter Shores. During the summer months, there are a variety of activities as depicted on the handout. All are fun, especially the Blackberry Jam with the many events going on in Lowell which is only 2 miles from our Park. As July turns to August, the blackberries begin to ripen and are ready to pick off the bushes in our Park and in the nearby areas. It's fun to just pick and eat some as you go! In the fall you'll see an array of colors in the various deciduous trees and shrubs along with the stately evergreen trees staying their wonderful lush green color. We are about an hours drive to snowmobiling and cross-country skiing at Crescent Lake Resort, which is a part of the Hoodoo Family. Before reaching Crescent Lake Resort, you'll arrive at the top of Willamette Pass where you can find downhill skiing. We stayed at the Sandy River RV Park in July with our 3 grandchildren. We found the park to be clean, quiet, friendly,? very well located, and we would definately return! Although there is no pool, or playground equipment, there is a beautiful river for swimming and wading, hiking trails to explore and nature everywhere. A real hidden gem in the Portland area. We had easy access to everything.
