Ober Gatlinburg has 8 ski trails and 3 ski lifts. There's a good grade II-IV bit of whitewater close by on Cove Creek, the 1.5-mile-from-beginning-to-end Cascades
 
portion. It could be said that this bit of Cove Creek is a place for fun whitewater rafting and kayaking. Don't go whitewater rafting and kayaking in advance of first checking conditions; it's dangerous stuff.
