This is a great location for tent camping. The welcoming reception and the capably looked after facilities makes the spree here worthwhile. There's so much to do at The Waltons Campground including hiking, whitewater paddling, playing golf, swimming, and fishing, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen.
The Waltons Campground is a very well prized campground by campers from Orono.
The great variety of local attractions and so much to do will make you pleased you came. It's been too much time since you went outside, you need to get out, and The Waltons Campground in Maine is a great choice.
 
    While visiting this area in Maine it's a great idea to go camping for a couple of days too. At The Waltons Campground exciting stuff to do is bountiful, and it positively is a great campground.
The nearby grade I-III, 6-mile-long
 Old Town 2nd Dam to Veazie Dam section of whitewater on Penobscot River is heaps of fun. The Old Town 2nd Dam to Veazie Dam section of Penobscot River is recommended for kayak paddlers of medium practice. Unsurprisingly, whitewater paddling is exciting but hazardous; check conditions previous to going. In case you would like to get out on the water, Hamlin's Marina Hampden is in close proximity. A journey to a nearby bowling alley such as Bangor-Brewer Bowling Lanes is always exciting, and in case you are trying to find a marina, Seal Ledge Marina is around here. This campground is a wonderful site to check out. Fort Point State Park is a splendid site to stretch your legs a bit, and a  
splendid site to bowl close to The Waltons Campground is Bucksport Bowling Center. If you like skiing, you're in luck; New Hermon Mountain is near The Waltons Campground; Rocky Knoll Country Club is a wonderful golf course nearby.
