Nearby there is a wonderful 8-mile-long category III-IV whitewater segment, the Rio Grande Reservoir to 12 miles above Creede section of Rio Grande. This segment of Rio Grande is fitting for paddlers who have been whitewater boating for a bit but who are not yet prepared for the incredibly risky rapids. For your safety you must always check restrictions prior to going whitewater boating.
