Shady Firs is a good locality for RV-ing. This campground is one of the great sites to camp here in the Northern Cascade Range. There's a great grade V stretch of whitewater close by on Silver Creek, the 4.5-mile-in-length Lynx Creek to Mary Kiona Park sector. Only those experienced in whitewater kayaking or rafting should attempt to paddle this stretch of Silver Creek. Check current conditions prior to departure on the whitewater, otherwise it's not safe and sound. Purcell Mountain Trail is a scenic wilderness hiking trail;
