 Harrington Place to Big Wolf Creek portion of Toutle - South Fork is recommended for raft paddlers of medium practice. Don't go paddling before first checking the latest conditions; it's perilous stuff. The 1,114 foot height difference Saint Helens Way is a scenic spot to go backpacking; it's 6 miles of magnificent backpacking. You have to schedule five hours to backcountry trek the difficult Saint Helens Way. The altitude variation is 2,561 feet for a pretty 7-mile-in-distance wilderness trail in the neighborhood; we are of course chatting about the Pine Creek Trail. Pine Creek Trail is a hard one day of backcountry backpacking. With its 2,573 foot variation in height it's a wonderful great outdoors hiking  
trail; the Smith Creek Trail is 6.2 miles of great hiking. Smith Creek Trail requires one day to trek; it's a demanding great outdoors hiking trail.
