Near McNabb Gulf is a perfect 4-mile-from-start-to-finish
 sweep of whitewater on Mullens Creek, a type IV-V(V+), this is the Prentice Cooper State Park to Mullens Cove portion. In the event that you possess a large amount of whitewater kayaking and rafting practice, this sweep of Mullens Creek may be a perfect whitewater sweep for you. Don't go whitewater kayaking and rafting ahead of first checking conditions; it's treacherous stuff. Booker T. Washington State Park is a great spot to go if you're at McNabb Gulf, and bring the little ones on a number of amusing rides at close by Bessie Smith Hall. Visiting Russell Cave National Monument is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and almost certainly you're looking for nearby lakes?  
Sure, Rainbow Lake is just a very short distance away. This campground is so splendid. While you're here at McNabb Gulf you can take a hike along the Hardy Trail, and a round of golf at nearby Black Creek Club is a great way to kill some time.
