Whitewater boating can get risky, so check the latest conditions ahead of going. Everybody loves Roan Mountain State Park; if you have a boat, Lakeshore Marina is a nice marina. Now, you may think that's plenty but there's even more fun stuff to do here in the Great Smoky Mountains. For all you bowlers, Holiday Lanes is a fine bowling alley close to Clyde Smith Shelter - Appalachian Trail. Hughes Gap is a delightful site to pop by nearby, and great water scenery is available at Miller Lake Dam near Clyde Smith Shelter - Appalachian Trail. An afternoon  
playing golf at Buffalo Valley Golf Course is always a bliss, and beautiful scenery and glorious skiing is what you obtain at Ski Beech.
