Little Pigeon River - Middle Prong has a close by whitewater bit; the Chimneys Trailhead to Chimneys Picnic Area portion is a perfect 1.75-mile-from-beginning-to-end type V bit of whitewater.
 
For experienced whitewater boaters this bit of Little Pigeon River - Middle Prong is an enjoyable place to run. Whitewater rafting and kayaking can turn hazardous, so check restrictions before you go.
