 2.8 miles long. A delightful 4.3-mile-in-length hiking trail with a delightful 1,756-foot variation in height can be encountered in the vicinity. This is the Knob Trail; it's a lovely backcountry hike. This hiking trail, the Knob Trail is a challenging backcountry hike that necessitates something like four and a half hours. From Fairview you obtain a good view of Mahogany Butte. If you havenít been to John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, you must schedule some time for it since you're here. Take a little spree to Burnt Cabin Creek if you're here at Fairview; Fairview is right by the Wall Creek Trail. This campground is always a pleasure. Cline Falls State Park is a fine place to stretch  
your legs a bit, and hiking along the Madison Butte Trail is good fun. Take a hike on the Knob Trail. It is very dry here at Fairview generally.
