Black Pine Springs is
 
    a popular spot with visitors from Sisters.
The 6.5-mile-in-distance FS 1514 Bridge to Gaging Station segment is a class IV+ segment of whitewater on Squaw Creek. The FS 1514 Bridge to Gaging Station segment of Squaw Creek is recommended
 for proficient whitewater paddlers only. Check circumstances prior to departure on the whitewater, otherwise it's not secure. A charming backcountry hiking trail nearby is Three Creek Lake Trail; it's 2.5 miles long and has a height variation of 900 feet. A charming two and a half hours of backcountry trekking waits for you along the Three Creek Lake Trail. Pleasant backcountry hiking awaits you on the nearby Green Lakes Trail; this great outdoors hiking trail has a variation in elevation of 929 feet and is 8.2 miles long. A good one day of difficult backcountry hiking looms for you along the Green Lakes Trail. A great 7.3-mile-from-beginning-to-end trail with a great 498-foot variation  
between top and bottom can be found nearby. This is the Broken Top Trail; it's a wonderful hike. If you wish for a demanding hike, Broken Top Trail requires in the order of five hours to hike.
