There's a good 5.7-mile-in-length grade IV(V) whitewater run on Copland Creek nearby, the Second Bridge to North Umpqua sector. Don't go whitewater rafting
 or kayaking on this run of Copland Creek unless you feel your whitewater rafting or kayaking capabilities are very good. Check the situation before heading out on the whitewater, or else it's not safe. There's a great 3.1-mile-long backpacking trail in possession of a great 3,234-foot difference in elevation around here; this pretty backpacking trail is the Copeland Creek Trail. You have to set aside six hours to trek the challenging Copeland Creek Trail. The 2-mile-from-start-to-finish Black Rock Trail is a beautiful great outdoors trail having a nice 926-foot variation in height. Black Rock Trail is a demanding two hours of backcountry hiking. A fine 6.4-mile-from-beginning-to-end beautiful  
backpacking trail in possession of an altitude difference of 2,801 feet is to be found close at hand; this is the BVD Trail.
