A nearby type II-III whitewater section can be found on Boquet River; the Beaver Meadow Brook to Northway segment is 17.6 miles long. Kayak paddlers on this section of Boquet River should have some skill in raft paddling. Whitewater rapids are perilous things, so you have to check restrictions in advance of a trip. If you would like to get out on the water, Club Nautico of Westport Marina is close by, and D.A.R. State Park is a delightful
 
location to take a look at on a wonderful day. So much exciting stuff in the Adirondack Mountains, just inspiring. Brandy Brook is a great site to have a look at; if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Cobble Hill Golf Course is in the neighborhood.
