The John Dunn Bridge to Taos Junction Bridge sector is a great 14-mile-in-length
 category III-IV section of whitewater on Rio Grande. When the conditions are right this section of Rio Grande is an enjoyable section of river for raft paddling. Whitewater rapids are dangerous things, so you have to check conditions prior to departure. There are magnificent locations to look at along the Comales Sheep Driveway, and there are plenty of people from Arroyo Hondo here. Going for a hike on the Simpson Memorial Trail is always a perfect adventure. During a winter visit to Rio Grande Gorge Bridge you could also stop by A A Taos Ski Valley Wilderness and rent a snow mobile. Go for a hike on the North End Trail. Lakes are wonderful; Talpa Reservoir is a lake that's close to Rio  
Grande Gorge Bridge. There is a delightful hiking trail close to Rio Grande Gorge Bridge called the Devisadero Peak Loop Trail, and the skiing at Taos is great.
