The Ellis Bog to Chamberlain Lake portion of Ellis Brook is recommended for learner whitewater paddlers. Whitewater rapids are treacherous phenomenons, so you have to check current conditions before heading out. A picturesque lake like Chesuncook Lake close to Penobscot River Corridor - Gero #1 is a pleasant place to stop by; Peaks-Kenny State Park is a fine site to stretch your legs a bit.
