Sanchez Reservoir is a place with many visitors from Chama,
 and you can have a nice hiking adventure along the Bernal Trail. If you get bored of Sanchez Reservoir, you could also check out nearby Stabilization Reservoir. There's some attention-grabbing stuff to catch a sight of at Sanchez Dam next to Sanchez Reservoir. It's a good idea to stop at Torcido Creek, it's next to Sanchez Reservoir, and you can hit the slopes at Red River nearby. High temperatures at Sanchez Reservoir during the summer months are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Sanchez Reservoir sink into the-10's. Sanchez Reservoir is generally  
a reasonably dehydrated site. The month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is January.
