The people who watch over the campground and the capably kept up facilities makes the tour here worthwhile. As if   Fairview wasn't enough, you can also go playing golf, swimming, whitewater paddling, hiking, and fishing, so there's no way to get bored. Fairview is a good campground to use as a base while enjoying the Southern Sierra Nevada. Finally, the time is right for camping again; Fairview in California is a really pleasant location to spend some time. There's a fine 17-mile-from-beginning-to-end type III-V whitewater section on Kern River nearby, the Johnsondale Bridge to Powerhouse #3 portion. Don't go whitewater kayaking or rafting on this section of Kern River unless you think your whitewater kayaking or rafting abilities are very fine. You must check current conditions ahead of going;   whitewater kayaking or rafting may turn hazardous.
