 A close by category II whitewater section can be encountered on Trinity River; the Lewiston to Junction City section is 30.3 miles long. This section of Trinity River is well suited for paddlers who haven't been paddling for very long. Don't go paddling in advance of first checking conditions; it's dangerous business. 3 miles of picturesque great outdoors trail can be found nearby; this is the Bluford Trail having a variation in altitude of 2,510 feet. Bluford Trail is a tough four and a half hours of trekking. If you have a boat, Trinity ALPS Marina-Fairview is a good marina; Steel Bridge is not far at all from Douglas City. That right there is lots of fun stuff already but it goes on,  
the Klamath Mountains has it all. If the weather is wonderful, you acquire a good panorama of Union Hill from Steel Bridge. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Trinity Lake.
