This section of Trinity River is well suited for paddlers who haven't been paddling for very long. Don't go paddling in advance of first checking conditions; it's dangerous business. 3 miles of picturesque great outdoors trail can be found nearby; this is the Bluford Trail having a variation in altitude of 2,510 feet. Bluford Trail is a tough four and a half hours of trekking. If you have a boat, Trinity ALPS Marina-Fairview is a good marina; Steel Bridge is not far at all from Douglas City.
