An afternoon playing golf at Lost Pines Golf Club is always a diversion, and Onion Creek has a good whitewater paddling spot close by. Through the warmest time of the year highs here at Watterson Ranch reach the 90's while nighttime lows are ordinarily in the 70's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 50's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Watterson Ranch. Lakes are such serene spots, why not have a look at Duke Lake   Number 1 right next door to Watterson Ranch, and paddling on Colorado River is so much fun. The amount of precipitation that falls at Watterson Ranch is close to the national average; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and January is when it's the driest. This is truly a good campground. A visit to Buescher State Park when you're here at Watterson Ranch is a great idea, and if the weather is delightful, you can go for a hike along the Buescher State Park Hiking Trail. This campground is so pretty. A delightful place like Bastrop State Park close to Watterson Ranch is too nice to leave out; since you're here you can take a hike along the Wildflower Trail. If you're a golfer then a magnificent nearby course is Pine Forest Golf Club, and hiking along the Lost Pines Trail is pleasant fun. Why not take a look at nearby Walnut Creek while you're here at Watterson Ranch; going for a hike along the Northern Loop Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Man, is there loads of enjoyable stuff to do in the vicinity of Watterson Ranch. Golf can be played at Colovista Country Club, and you can have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Southern Loop Trail.
