We are located about 30 min drive from uptown Asheville. We are a businees that always leans toward the ideals of always treat others as you would want to be treated and that has always been value that has always worked well. We are in an area far enough from the city lights that you can see that stars brightly at night, but close enough that you can be in town with just a shout drive. We have firepits, park style grills, fish pond, hiking,     horse shoes, bath house, rest rooms, firewood and charcoal for sale, pic-nick tables and also horse back riding can also be arranged is you are interested...... Sure, Starnes Cove Lakes is just a very short distance away. You clearly must go for Rocky Creek Campground. You'll meet a lot of people from Leicester here, and a visit to Mount Mitchell State Park when you're here is never a bad idea. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Brush Creek, and stopping by Pisgah National Forest is a good thing to do. Get dripping wet paddling on Walnut Creek,   and the Thompson Ridge Trail offers hiking at its best. Rocky Creek Campground usually gets a lot of rain; during July this area sees the most rain while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. There's good hiking along the Pilot Rock Trail, and visiting Blue Ridge Parkway is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. This is such a splendid campground. Whitewater paddling is magnificent on French Broad River, and there are wonderful places to explore along the Side Hill Trail. This campground is so splendid. Very delightful scenery and fine skiing is what you get at Wolf Ridge, and do have a look at Gouches Branch since you're here at Rocky Creek Campground. For the duration of the summer months here at Rocky Creek Campground, high temperatures typically reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Rocky Creek Campground temperatures fall to the 20's. All year is a splendid time in the Blue Ridge Mountains if you have a thing about the outdoors. Go for a hike on the Shut-In Trail, and Patton Cove is another wonderful location to visit nearby. You feel that's enough? Just getting warmed up.
