Black River - East Fork is suited for whitewater boaters who have been kayak paddling for a while but who are not yet prepared for the incredibly dangerous rapids. Don't go kayak paddling in advance of first checking circumstances;

it's dangerous business. Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park is a nice location; if by chance you have a boat, BLUFF View Marina is a nice marina. All year is a good time in the Ozarks if you love the outdoors. A visit to a close by bowling alley like Piedmont Lanes is always fun. The pretty marina of Webb Creek Marina is a good place to leave dry land behind. A journey to Elephant Rocks State Park revives the spirit, and there are good places to explore along the Crane Lake Trail.
