Neck State Park is worth stopping at if you're at Smallwood State Park, and get covered with water paddling on Quantico Creek.
Don't leave Smallwood State Park without first going for a hike along the The Crossing Trail; float down the rapids of Accotink Creek in a kayak. Good
hiking is available along the Birch Bluff Trail, and going for a hike on the Burnt Pine Trail is always a wonderful adventure. Summer at Smallwood State Park comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs
down to the 40's while the cold winter nights at Smallwood State Park are in the 20's.
Smallwood State Park is positioned in a region with loads of entertaining things to do, and if you're trying to find a great site to go camping, this is a wonderful choice. A campground like
this is too good to miss. There's tremendous hiking along the Pine Grove Forest Trail, and you can go for a hike on the Maiden Fair Trail. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors fun things the area near Smallwood State Park has to offer. Everybody loves Smallwood State Park, and paddling on Pohick Creek is so much fun.
