The 7 feet of great snow that fall annually at the nearby ski hill Catamount is nice. Catamount has 7 different ski lifts, a delightful 1,000-foot drop from top to bottom, and 29 slopes. The Ancram to Elizaville segment has       a mileage of 14 miles; you locate this run of whitewater on Roeliff Jansen Kill River. It's a grade I-III run. The Ancram to Elizaville segment of Roeliff Jansen Kill River is suitable for whitewater paddlers who have been whitewater   boating for a period of time but who are not yet prepared for the very perilous rapids. Don't go whitewater boating ahead of first checking conditions; it's perilous business. For all you bowlers, Hoe Bowl Family Recreation Center is a good bowling alley in the vicinity of Camp Pontiac.
