We are located in Pine County between Rutledge and Willow River on two lakes and the Kettle River. We are approximately 90 miles north of the Twin Cities and approximately 70 miles south of Duluth. Highway 35 provides efficient transportation from either direction.

Campground sites feature scenic settings. A bathhouse with hot showers, along with men's and women's facilities, is available to campers. Fully wooded areas, miles of trails, and riverside picnic spots are available for usage by seasonal campers.

Throughout the Campground there are
many trails for hiking through the woods, along the river, and adjacent to the lakes. The Willard Munger Bike Trail somewhat circles the campgrounds, and can be joined approximately 1. 5 miles east of the Campgrounds and 2 miles west of the campgrounds. The Willard Munger Trail
extends from Forest Lake to Duluth.

We are located on Long Lake and Wolf Lake which are connected by a channel. Thus, canoeing and fishing opportunities are multiplied. We also feature a half-mile frontage on the Kettle River which is a designated scenic wild river.

Wilderness Campgrounds offers a number of additional recreational opportunities. Three tennis courts are available for usage by campers. A sand beach and swim dock on the lake provide a fine swimming locale. A volleyball court and a children's playground are available adjacent to the beach,

and several docks are available for boats. We rent canoes, both for river and lake usage. Fishing boats are also available for rental, as are bicycles.

Our nightly rate for campsites is $20. 00 per night. Water is $1. 00 additional per night, electricity is $4. 00 additional per night, and sewer is $7. 00 additional per night. Rustic sites along the Kettle River are available. Campers may arrive as early as desired on the day proceeding the evening camping and may stay as late as desired following the last night of camping. Those who camp with us for four days receive the remaining three days of the week without additional charge.

We are pleased to accommodate groups of all sizes for camping and/or canoeing. We do have several attractive group campsites. A 20% discount is available for groups renting four or more sites other than during a holiday weekend.

A bathhouse is available with Men's and Women's facilities and hot showers.

Canoe rental is $22. 00 for the first day and $20. 00 for each additional day. Canoes are available to canoe the Kettle River upon which Wilderness Campgrounds abuts, or for usage on the lakes within the campground area. Shuttle service is available for river trips at a modest charge. Rowboats are available for rental at $24. 00 for the first day and $22. 00 thereafter.

Wilderness Campgrounds is easy to reach. We are located approximately 90 miles north of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. Travel North on I-35, past the Hinckley and Sandstone exits, turn at the Rutledge exit (No. 195). Drive through Rutledge and take a left onto Long Lake Road which is just outside of town. A Wilderness Campgrounds billboard is present at this location. Drive approximately 1.7 miles to the west-end of Long Lake.
