Get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Nueces River, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Rio Frio here. Hiking along the Lost Maples State Natural Area Trails is brilliant fun, and Camp Live Oak is not the only site nearby, Harrison Lake is a nearby lake. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing things at Camp Live Oak. There's whitewater on Frio River
    for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and Tucker Hollow is a magnificent location to explore. This is such a pretty campground. Places like Lost Maples State Natural Area are nice to take a look at, and do take a hike on the Garner State Park Trail.
Summer at Camp Live Oak comes
with high temperatures in the 90's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are usually in the 50's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Camp Live Oak. Camp Live Oak gets a common amount of annual rain; October is the wettest month with most rain, and December is the month with the least moisture. You can run the rapids of Dry Frio River near Camp Live Oak.
Garner State Park is a fine place to stretch your legs a bit, and let's not forget East Frio River which is a stream that you may stumble upon during your stay.
