This part of Penobscot River - South Branch is a part of water suited for novices in whitewater rafting or kayaking. Of course, whitewater rafting or kayaking is enjoyable but risky; check the situation before heading out.   Take a hike on the Sally Mountain Trail, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Sugarloaf USA. Going for a hike along the Alder Brook Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. Here at Moose River Outpost there are plenty of folks from Jackman, and why not take a little spree to Heald Stream while you're here.
