You're perhaps interested in lakes, Appalachian Ski Mountain Lake is one of those nearby, and a glorious site for whitewater paddling is Boone Fork. There's more to do close to Camp Sky Ranch other than just hanging out such as fishing, hiking, swimming, whitewater paddling, and playing golf, so most likely you want to stay a while. Camp Sky Ranch is an old favorite with people from Boone.

Trail is a delightful local trail. Camping out certainly is a pleasant thing to do, and Camp Sky Ranch is a great local campground if you happen to be in North Carolina.
Now, you may think that's a heap but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Camp Sky Ranch. At Camp
Sky Ranch you can see Deck Hill, and Boone Golf Club is a good golf course close by. Camp Sky Ranch is a wonderful camp ground to use as a base while enjoying the Blue Ridge Mountains.
There are so many amusing things to do in the vicinity of Camp Sky Ranch, and spending time
at this campground is enormously pleasant.
The kind folks working here and the competently managed operations are rather amazing. High temperatures at Camp Sky Ranch during the warm days of summer are in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's while Camp Sky Ranch overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 10's.
