Near Camp St Charles is a great 8-mile-from-beginning-to-end stretch of whitewater on Anacostia River - Northwest Branch, a category I-III(V+), this is the US Route 29 to Hyattsville sector. This stretch of Anacostia River - Northwest Branch is recommended for skilled whitewater boaters exclusively. Whitewater kayaking or rafting can turn perilous, so       check conditions before heading out. A pleasant beach close to Camp St Charles is Bathing Beach, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Camp St Charles; Upland Trail is a nice local trail. Take the little ones on some enjoyable   rides at close by X P Lasersport. A visit to Camp St Charles wouldn’t be complete without a journey to close by Seneca Creek State Park; the views at Greenbelt Park will blow your mind.
